Still at the beach!

Posted September 14th, 2007 by jeff in General

Hey all, we’re still at the beach having a grand time. Also, Brian has done some magic that will allow everyone to post comments again. Sorry about that– something went kablooey at our hosting company, but we should be back on-line completely now.

Hey all– most of g14 is off to the beach for a week of fun, sun, hot tubs, margaritas, and no Ho in a bikin… uh… Speedo. If we get a minute, we’ll post some pictures for you. Have a great week!

Can’t stop the Birthday Train!

Posted August 16th, 2007 by Matthew in Fun Stuff

You know who else you can’t stop? The D-Train. Did Jeff just post about this? Probably, but I had written all this stuff and then had to go to work, and I was about to cut and paste it into the comments. But then I thought, no…not me. No cutting and pasting for me. Plus, I have photos! So, I just wanted to wish a very, very happy birthday to D-Train, the man, David C. White. I could go into how long Dave and I have been friends, how much he means to me, how he is my hetero-lifemate, the JD to my Turk (he’s a sensi). But the truth is, if you’ve talked to me for more than five minutes, you’ve probably heard all of this since I never shut up about him. So, happy birthday Dave! Here’s a photo of the D-Train, using his incredible force powers to physically stop two of his actors dead in their tracks.

Back! Back! I banish thee, evil spirits!

The tragic part is, Dave didn’t know his own strength in the force and he made their heads explode. Hence, no more Stone and MacGregor. That’s the g! True Hollywood story folks.

Who else? JKf(D)C! Yes, these two were born on the same day, which I believe is actually some sort of conspiracy, considering Jessie Kenney is Kel’s best friend ever. I mean think about it, two people born on the exact same day, one who is my best friend and one who is Kel’s? Hmmm…sounds suspect. Anyways, here’s a photo of Jessie, plotting her next fan letter to g14:

You know, I had a picture of Jessie, but she would probably hit me if I posted it, so I’m going to make all of you men vying for her attention continue to dream about the beauty that is JKf(D)C.

Happy birthday to both of you!! No fighting, just love!

Matthew

It’s a birthday showdown…

Posted August 16th, 2007 by jeff in Fun Stuff

Today, two people celebrating their birthday must fight to the death for the right to name August 16th as their birthday! (Someone kick in that Star Trek music where Kirk and Spock are supposed to fight to the death).

Happy birthday to two, count them TWO folks we all know and love on our bliggity blog.

First off, David C. White celebrates his birthday today! Woot! Let’s all take some time today to go and look at the trailer for Waiting for Harry to celebrate Dave’s Neck Definition (Neck Def, or ND for short). Wow. Badass.

Second to enter the arena, Jessie Kenney no longer from Chicago! To celebrate Jessie, let’s all go drink fancy beverages from Starbucks. Or remind her that she’s the original #1 SUPERFAN! Even though she barely posts any more. :( But it’s her birthday!

Now, let the duel for our affections begin. TO THE DEATH!

Happy birthday to the survivor!

The Hero Initiative/Mike Wieringo

Posted August 15th, 2007 by jeff in General

Hey guys,

Once you’ve watched this week’s vlog entry you might be a little confused, so I wanted to post a follow-up here. On Sunday, comic artist Mike Wieringo passed away at a pretty young age. I knew Wieringo best from his stellar run on Fantastic Four with writer Mark Waid. His loss will be felt greatly amongst the comic and art communities.

His family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Hero Initiative in his name. If you want to learn more about The Hero Initiative, visit their website or watch the very end of this week’s vlog entry as writer Paul Jenkins describes what it’s all about.

You can find out more about Mike Wieringo at his website.
